White Wine Sangria

5 from 1 vote
Sangria made with white wine of your choosing
Prep Time 10 minutes
Course: Drinks

Ingredients

  • 1 bottle white wine I prefer Pinot Grigio
  • 2 cups sparking limeade Trader Joe's French Market
  • 1 cup blood orange soda Trader Joe's Village Italia
  • 1/3 cup pineapple juice Dole's small cans; use half the can
  • 3 cups assorted chopped fruit pineapple, apple, grapes, strawberries

Equipment

  • pitcher or punch bowl

Method

  1. Chill all products! Chop up fruits, add them to the pitcher, pour red wine over the fruit and let it sit in the fridge for at least an hour.
  2. Add the blood orange, limeade, and pineapple sodas/juices to the wine/fruit mixture and stir. Chill again until ready to serve!
  3. Server over ice, and make sure to get some of the fruit in the glass! Garnish with lime, lemon and/or orange wedges.

Notes

I've used a variety of white wines, and obviously the sweeter/dryer the wine, the sweeter/dryer the sangria will be. Personally, my favorite white is a pinot grigio. Or truthfully, whichever one I have on hand already, is my fave ;)
As for fruits, I like ones that don't get too soggy, and keep their shape. I like to bite into my fruit, instead of it slipping down my throat and hitting my gagger! LOL! And making them bite-sized works better for a drink, IMHO!
If you don't have a Trader Joes close by, you can use San Pellegrino blood orange soda. For the sparkling limeade, use a combo of La Croix sparkling lime and Simply limeade as a close-enough substitute!
